UP ALL NIGHT
Joey was up all evening playing his new video game. He didn't want to stop. The more he played the closer he was getting to the top level. Joey had gotten the game for his birthday from one of his very good friends. As Joey was nearing the top levels, he needed to stop playing in order to use bathroom. While on his way to the bathroom, Joey tripped over an old fake genie lamp. Suddenly, the lamp glowed and a genie came out with a puff of gray, cloudy smoke. Joey was astonished. He must be dreaming.
"Hello", the genie said, "I am your magical genie. What are your three wishes?"
Joey didn't know what to say. He was speechless and a little scared. Finally, he managed to speak. "I wish to be 10th prestige with all of the unlocks and the very top level of my video game..."
"Time to go to bed, Joey!," his mom shouted. Joey hated going to bed. He always had so much fun while he was awake.
"And I wish I could stay up forever," Joey said quickly. This was his second wish. The Genie disappeared into the lamp. Where did he go? Joey was still in shock. What just happened? Would the wish work? How will this effect his life? He was hoping the wishes worked.
He went back to playing his game. Sure enough, he was 10th prestige with all of the unlocks and he played all night long. Finally, Joey wanted to go to bed. He went upstairs and tried to sleep. He closed his eyes, but he couldn't sleep. He was feeling sleepy, but couldn't seem to fall asleep. He stayed up until morning. He was so tired.
For the next few days, Joey was unable to sleep and he finally told his mom who took him to see the doctor. Luckily, the doctor didn't find anything wrong with him. On the car ride home, Joey realized he had made a wish to stay up forever. but had not asked that he not be tired. Realizing he had already used 2 wishes, Joey was worried about what he needed to do. Joey began to think that if he could find the lamp, he could make his last wish and be able to sleep again.
Joey needed to find the lamp. He still had one wish left. He searched his room, the hallway and finally the basement when he tripped over something in his way. As he fell, a large cloud of smoke appeared with the genie. The genie said, "What is your final wish?"
"I wish to be able to go to sleep again." Joey wished with all of his might. He immediately fell to the ground and went to sleep dreaming about being the champion of his video game. It was a great night's sleep.
