Did you know that more than 25 percent of high school students fall asleep in class each week? Researchers that the reason is that teenagers' sleep hormones don't kick in until 11:00 P.M., and don't peak until 7:00 A.M. Because of this, schools in Somerset County are planning to start high school an hour later; however, this would require students in elementary and middle school to start an hour earlier. Bedminster School should start an hour earlier so that the high school students can sleep later.
