Cinderalice

"Mother I'm done with this. I don't want to find her! She probably doesn't even want the shoe." Said the prince.

"You must deary. It will be very kind and romantic. You know what you father will do if he comes home and you're not being married. Oh, and trust me she will care about that shoe."

The queen had been talking on and on about how worried she was. Her son was not helping with her stress. Last night she told me about how the one girl her son seemed to like he didn't. She has been worrying about her son needing to be married for so long.

My name is Lindy. I am the queen's personal servant and the only one who knows what is really going on. It all happened because of that rotten princess. She didn't want her older brother getting married so she wished he would hate every girl he met at a ball. My job as a fairy, undercover of course, is to have the prince meet a girl. Not at a ball though because then he will hate her. Now you're probably asking who is the girl the prince doesn't want to find. Well it is Cinderella. I have to make the prince like Cinderella. Or at least a nice maid.
"Amy your mother wants me to let you know that your friends can't come for dinner." I said.

     "What?! Why!?"

"She is to depressed over your brother."

"Oh." Amy said in a sad tone. I think she knows it was her fault maybe she will reverse the wish. Yes! Less hard work for me.

"Lindy, Do you think I was to harsh not letting Amy have friends over just because I am depressed?" The queen asked.

"No. Definitely not. You are to weak and upset to have five rowdy girls running around."

"Oh I guess. I just feel like I let her down. I am so worried. Harold comes home in seven days. Seven days!"

Around this time the queen started weeping in my lap. I told her it was okay and she went to bed.

That night a messenger arrived. It was pouring. I hurried him inside. He must have been freezing. I asked him what was going on. When he told me the message for the queen I was astounded. "I am speechless" I told the messenger."I don't want to tell the queen."

"We must it is my duties."

"If you insist." I said to him. Oh what could I do.

That night I snuck out  of the castle. I needed to find a girl fit for a prince. I found one. Her name was Alice. She was very kind and shared the same work as me. I knew I could get her looking nice. I needed a way for he to meet the prince. Aha! I have it.

"This dress looks beautiful on you." I said

     "I like it." Replied Alice.

"Now you have to take it off. You need to wear this one while you're walking."

"Oh." Alice said. I could tell she was disappointed. But it was necessary. She had to wear a servant outfit for the prince to fall for her. This just might work.

"Hmm hm hmm hm hm hmm." I watched Alice walk across the grounds. Bump into the prince. Check. Fall down. Check. Prince help her up. Check. Wait for it. Wait for it. I wish I could hear what they were saying.

I didn't get to see what happened next. I got called to help the queen. But before I reached her room I heard crying from behind Amy's door. It stopped. Then I heard her say something. Very faint. "I wish my brother would fall in love. With a nice girl." Amy whispered.

I had to go help the queen for the rest of the afternoon. The king was coming home that evening.

That night, not four royals dined, but five. The prince was getting married to Alice! I knew she could do it. It made me very happy. The king and queen were proud of their son. Alice was so thankful to me and happy. As for Amy as hard as she tried she couldn't hide her happiness.
