Winning Isn't Everything

by Keith Schoch

Has one of you friends ever told you that winning is everything? Well it's not, winning may make you feel happy but if you don't win it isn't the end of the world. Some people people just over react if they don't win. I think that winning isn't everything.

First off if you don't win it will just make you want to make you win more. If you don't win  you will try to improve until your skill more until you do win. You also will have the urge to work harder at the skill and set up goals in order to achieve this goal. This will encourage you to spend more time on the achievement.

Also when people win too many times they become over confident. In some cases when people have the weight of winning every time they will get stressed out. People also will think they can do everything themselves and won't let the rest of their team play. Over confident players won't learn from their mistakes and think that it wasn't the best shot and get mad at themselves.

Most importantly even the best athletes have lost. Micheal Jordan, Alex Rodriguez, and Tiger Woods even haven't won every game the have played so far. You aren't a superhuman you aren't good at everything. You can loose somethings and still win because you may have won more games before and if you tried hard you may feel like you did win inside no matter what's on the scoreboard.

Even though winning makes you feel confident, too much confidence isn't good at all. A big trophy must be nice however boosting someones confidence is even better. Is it really that bad to loose one game? Winning isn't the greatest feeling.
