Winning Isn't Everything

by Nicholas Bordone

This year I have noticed that a lot of people take a game to seriously. They think that winning is everything(which I personally disagree). I see it every day at gym class, and when I am home playing MW3 multiplayer. Bottom line is people take winning as the only option. You might even be that person ,and didn't even know it. There are a lot of reasons for why winning isn't everything.

One bad thing is that you would be so focused on winning. You would not have time for your family, or friends(not including teammates). You would have no social life off the field. Most athletes when there in the off season they play in another league or train(all the time) till the next season starts.

Another bad thing is having bad sportsmanship and flip out when you loose. Nobody would want to play with you if you go in there face "your OUT!". Nobody will wan't to play with you if you get a temper tantrum every time you loose. Even some athletes quit the game when they loose because they lost one game(drama queens).

Lastly at times people bring themselves or other people down if you/your teammate gave it 100%. You shouldn't rip off on your teammate if they missed that shot/goal/point/etc, or yourself because then you know what to work on. Some player feel bad because they lost even though they lost by 2 points/goal/run/etc. My friend once didn't talk to anyone for two days because he lost a game even though the game was so close. Don't you think people shouldn't bring someone down just because they didn't make the shot or the catch or the goal, because they tried there best and some times people just mess up it what makes us human?

Even though you might have done some of the things above by accident(happened even to me before). But it doesn't give the excuse if it happens repeatedly. Do you think winning is everything? I believe that winning is not everything because people should play for fun of the game and nothing more.
