As he touched the bus it turned into gold and said to the bus driver.
"Like the new color."
"How are you able to?"
"I know I am awesome" said Nick cutting off the bus driver.
It was a very sunny day in the city of Los Angeles. Shining golden bus, moved on a nicely paved street road. On the bus all the kids were asking things to Nick like, "Hay can you turn my blank gold?"or "Can you turn this rock to diamond for me?" Things like that. Nick would answer.
"Sure bring it here ,or I am busy right now being awesome manipulating mater and all"
There was one thing that he could not get from all the riches he can make was McKenzie a girl that goes to his at school. McKenzie was the hottest girl most popular and all the guys would kill to just get one date. McKenzie thinks that Nick is a self centered person who thinks he better then everyone else because of his power and because of that she would never go out on a date with him. she would go with a sarcastic voice. "Its my birthday," Nick shouted."How are my parents going to get something I can't buy I already own the Vadiceant, even the Pope has some greed," Nick said. When he went down the golden stairs onto the diamond floor, that glistens from the light of the platinum chandelier. Nick first opened a package from his grandfather. When he opened it it was a very thick old torn book on Greek Mythology with a book mark in it with a letter that read.

"Whatever," said Nick with no interest in keeping the card or reading the chapter of the book. Throwing the card away and put the book in his room. The only present that he liked was from his cousin Leo who gave him a personally designed clothes that he gets every year. The reason he likes them because each piece of clothing is different and had cool sketches of all sorts of things.
The second thing that he enjoys most in world is art and he has bought alot of it. From ancient time cave paintings to modern day art.
Nick tried and tried to impress McKenzie but he was always using his powers in doing so(selfishly). So she Kept rejecting him. But he Never gave up which was what she thought was the only thing that was good about him which was in the core hidden under a very think layer of greed and selfishness.
"Hay are you going to go to the dance this Friday,"asked Michael(Nick's all time best friend)
"Yeah I am going," replied Nick.
"And you going to ask McKenzie for the trillionth time," said Michael teasingly.
"I will never give up like all the other jocks that got rejected by her,"comebacked Nick.
"You will never let that girl off your mind," stated Micheal.
"I won't until the day pigs fly over us and conquer the world shotting lasers out of there eyes," joked Nick.
"She is just going to reject you again emphasis on again," said Michael.
"That is nothing you can prove,"said Nick.
"Whatever, but I will see you at the dance,"said Michael.
As Nick walks over to McKenzie and she says"NO"
"You don't even know what i was about to say,"replied Nick
"You were going to ask me if you want to go to the dance with me" said McKenzie annoyed.
"Will you," asked Nick.
"No," said McKenzie"Why won't you give up?" She asked
"I won't give up because you are not a person I would give up on and I do not care how long it takes for you to like me, I think you are worth more then anything I can buy. replied Nick" Why don't you go on a date with me except for the fact that I am selfish?" asked Nick getting annoyed himself.
"For starters you are such a show off its incredible," roared McKenzie.
"I could and will give you anything you ever want diamonds,"said Nick as he said diamonds he touched McKenzie's hand. At that moment she turned into solid diamond statue. "What have I done?" said Nick trying to keep the tears in. He ran all the way back home crying in his room. Then as the tears dried he started to search for a solution. He spent hours on the Internet trying to find out. Until he got so frustrated he kicked his bedroom wall. Plop the book that his grandfather gave him fell on the floor. Didn't know what else to do he started reading the book marked page on the chapter the said the Midas Touch. When he finished reading the chapter he knew what to do.
He went to McKenzie's house ringed on the door bell her father opened the door with his tearing eyes he sniffed.
"You are not welcome here"
"Please sir I can imagine what you are feeling right know but I think I have a solution but in order to do this I need you to let me in" said Nick urgently.
"I suppose" said McKenzie's dad.
Nick rushed in went to the kitchen got a cup filled it with water a pured it over her. Just like that she turned back to flesh and bones again.
"I promise to never be selfish or a showoff again"said Nick hugging her and at his surprise she hugged him back. "Will you go to the dance with me?" Nick asked.
"Yes I will,"said McKenzie.
The very next day Nick donated a million dollars to twenty charities. When a kid on the bus asked him something greedy involving his power he said. "If you want to make money get a job." The looked at Nick
stunned by the answer because never before has he turned down an request. Almost every at the school were just as surprised to see Nick and McKenzie go to the dance together especialy because they thought she was solid diamond. Nick had finnally learned that money isn't everything, don't be selfish, and don't be a showoff.
